We have progressed as planned so far. It is an amazing enthusiasm in the team that propels us! It feels as an honor to work like this. Soon the more professional website will be ready and this will be a surprise to even the most critical viewers!
Highly interesting visit at junkers-profly.de
The Company produces rescue parachutes with a ballistic rocket for opening. www.junkers-profly.de It is interesting that this company has a variety of ballistic rockets and parachutes, which allows them to make all sort of combinations, even to the extent that the whole craft could be lifted first by the rocket, and then have the chute opened. All in all it was a highly useful visit and we have all details now to allow the use of a safety chute. We have also discussed the airbag parachute.
Detailed design drawings
With Marko and Predrag we discussed last details, and drawings are now finished and the construction is beginning! Will be continuing over the next weeks!
Ordering the materials
All materials and components have been ordered, except for the charger (63 V) (we are still discussing a solution with some advisors) and the canopy (but that will be next week).
The student Chaofan has started and the first steps of study on certification requirements have been made. It would be good in this stage to count with the comments/advice of the NLR.
Using Fabric small experiment
Just as an idea we experimented a moment with fabric as a fuselage cover. In the first picture a raw cut foam. The stretch fabric covers it nicely and you see the rough shape. The picture below has first a flexible PE foam over it. Now all scarves are invisible and a smooth surface is created. This technique is interesting for future fuselage systems.
